As many of you know, my detailing hobby took a major back seat this season. In late May and early June, just as I was getting going, I ended up with a severely sore back and shoulder. I thought I had overdone it, or pulled a muscle. It turned out that I had a bad case of Internal Shingles. All the pain of Shingles, but without the rash. At the same time I had a really bad cough that I just couldn’t shake.
A few days after being diagnosed with Shingles, I ended up back in the hospital with a kidney stone. I was now in the worst pain of my entire life. While they were diagnosing the kidney stone, a CT Scan happened to accidentally discover the source of my cough: a partially collapsed lung.
The kidney stone took over 2 weeks to pass. The pain of the 3 ailments at once really took a toll on me physically, and I was very slow to recover. My energy levels were low all summer; I just didn’t have it in me to be cleaning cars.
I did get around to a few details for very close friends and family, but that’s about it. Apologies to anyone I didn’t get to this summer. I hope to be back at it next year!
